My Go-to Manifestation Intention, a Magician Story

The Magician in the Tarot reminds us of our magic, and our power to create the life we want. Not sure if you believe it? Hear my story and maybe you’ll change your mind.

Meanings of the Page of Swords

I know it sounds crazy, but I have a go-to manifestation intention, that has worked more times than not. And I’ll tell you what it is, because I want people to use it for themselves.

I’ll cut straight to it, it is this:

If (what I want)____ is for me, please dear divine, show me a way.

That is it. What have I manifested with this?

Most recently, I manifested a house.

That’s right, a house. We did not expect to buy a house for at least a few years. My husband and I would speak about it in this wishful-thinking type of way. Living in California which has an insane housing market, and with both of us in career transitions, we didn’t think it would happen for a few years after we get ourselves on consistent stable footing.

And then, about 6 months ago, I thought about the prospect of the house, and on a whim, I decided to put the intention out there. And so, I said to the Universe, “If owning a home is for us, please dear divine, show us the way.”

All I did was speak it into my heart. I was sitting on the couch nonchalantly, and simply said it into my heart with love.

And then, about a month later, a family member approached us about helping us to buy a house. We didn’t actually think they were serious, so we brushed it off without a thought, until another family member asked us about the offer. That was when we realized that this was on — a way has appeared.

Intuitively, I knew this was our chance. Even though there was a lot going on in our lives, my guides were pointed in their message that this is for me: The time is now. Do not wait. A month ago, we closed on the house, and now, I’m writing this in that very house!

Manifestation is so easy, that it’s hard.

According to The Magician in the Tarot, we wield manifestation with the four suits of the tarot. Each contributes to the manifestation in its own way. They are:

  • The Wands: Desire, passion and creativity
  • The Cups: We feel it in our body and our hearts
  • The Swords: Our truth and words
  • The Pentacles: We will nurture the manifestation into existence

For the manifestation of this house:

  • The Wands: I felt passionate about creating a home for me and my husband
  • The Cups: I spoke it into my heart and felt a tingling alignment
  • The Swords: I set the intention for what was for me – if it manifests, then it is my truth
  • The Pentacles: When we got the offer, I took the steps to look for the house in order to manifest it into being

Manifesting is a combination of desire, alignment, co-creation with the Universe, taking the necessary steps, and surrender. Because all of this sound contradictory, it can be hard to hold all of that in our brains. Not to mention the Magician’s formula consists of four elements, which we can get heady about it, trying to ‘figure out’ all of the steps, wondering if we’re doing it right, which is antithetical to manifestation vibes.

This intention simplifies it, which is why it’s so powerful. Let us look at it again:

If (what I want)____ is for me, please dear divine, show me a way.

In saying “if this is for me” I am both setting the intention of desire, allowing the alignment be my truth, and surrendering at the same time. “Show me a way” sets the intention that I will do what is necessary from a physical standpoint to manifest it into being.

What is not in the intention, is the heart juju, which isn’t about the words, but how you feel. By speaking it into my heart, I am connected with my body and attempting to manifest this as spirit in body here on Earth, and radiating gratitude and love as I do it. It’s like my heart is singing this intention into the Universe.

You may be wondering: does this intention always ‘work’?

Of course there have been things that have not manifested in the way I want them to, or have not come to fruition. The intention is “If this is for me, then show me the way” – as in… if this is something that is aligned with me, then let it happen. If something is not in alignment with me, it is not because I’m a bad person or not doing it right, but because of a myriad of reasons, I may never know truly (until I’m back in spirit form, perhaps!). Including: this isn’t the right time, there’s something better for me, there is an insight I need to come to. Or I don’t actually desire it, it’s not actually my truth but was convinced that it is by others, or that it’s simply not actually what’s best for my soul growth at this time.

I’ve definitely had times where I look back on things that did not manifest, and am glad it didn’t because it wouldn’t have been good timing, or that what came instead was the catalyst I needed to do major healing, or an ‘aha’ that contributed to more room in my heart space (which is way better than the thing happening!)

I’ve also had times when my manifestation came to fruition, only to realize that it’s not actually what I want, but I would not have learned that without the experience! In that way, it is still in my best interest for it to come true.

The Magician Reversed — When we aren’t manifesting what we want

When what we want is not manifesting, it’s easy to fall into the trap of, it’s ‘because I’m not good enough’, which isn’t true. We live in a society that believes — “do well, and get a reward, do bad, and you get nothing!” — a limited belief system that keeps us locked in ‘obedience to god’ when it comes to manifesting (And the god I know, don’t play this game!)

Manifestation is about alignment and we can use The Magician’s formula of the suits and ask ourselves with self-honesty — Is there a misalignment? We can try to get to the bottom of  ‘what’s missing’ — but I’ve found in my own adventures in manifesting that in the end, surrender is always the answer. We can go on an endless hunt trying to pinpoint the thing that will make it manifest, but I’ve found the Universe is not a fan of ‘force’ energy. Sometimes, all we can do is trust that the divine has heard our request, and the Universe is re-arranging itself to help us create what is indeed for us.

This is where we go back to The Fool’s faith — we can’t see the unknown, we can’t see the total of ‘god’s plan’. Sometimes, we have to accept that what we want (in the way we see it) is not perhaps part of that plan. And sometimes, it will manifest, it just takes a few steps in order for us to get there. We are only human, and all we can do is witness what we experience.

Each of our souls come into this life with a unique experience we’re meant to undergo, that contributes to our soul growth. It’s not every life that we’re meant to be rich and famous, be an olympian, win the Nobel Peace Prize, or whatever pie-in-the-sky dream we may have. If it’s for you — it’ll happen. If it doesn’t, well then… I believe, our souls chose certain experiences to help us grow — and if that experience is in alignment with that growth, then the divine will show us a way.

And so, trust in the Magic of the Universe

Trust in yourself. What do you want to manifest? Be the Magician, own your power. Just remember that part of that power is to not give your power away to your manifestations. What is for you will come to you. Ask the Universe for help and be open to receiving it. May it be so.
